Here's an inspiring quotation for reflection:

"If anything, the essence of intelligence would seem to be in knowing when to think and act quickly, and knowing when to think and act slowly."
~ Robert Sternberg, an internationally recognised expert in intelligence amplification;
Drawing upon my own personal as well as professional experience, to be able to execute the intelligent approach as suggested, one would need an active imagination of the mind, and a broad perspective about the world around us, coupled with a keen interest, plus a bold attitude, in juggling competing, incomplete and inaccurate information all at the same time.
These may sound difficult, but actually can easily be cultivated over time.
- First and foremost, we must learn how to stay cool, avoid stress and anxiety, and develop a resourceful mind state at all times. Having time-outs and practising timely relaxation routines certainly help.

- Next, we just have to constantly seek novelty in our everyday life events, and periodically challenge our own thinking by looking at the assumptions we hold, and/or the sacred cows we fear to tread. In reality, we don't have to be original all the time, just go and do the necessary things we have not done before.

- Also, we have to make it our daily habit to think creatively and critically - and systemically - when we look at a problem or a situation. The beauty of such an approach is that we always have the freedom to look at it sideways, from the past, ahead, below and beneath, and far beyond, and more importantly, from within, to reach that innate and intuitive sensing capability in us.

- More importantly, we occasionally got to learn to do things the hard way. The concept of 10,000 hours is historically proven, but we don't have to go that far. We just need to adapt to suit our needs.

- Last but least, we need to network with a lot of good people, especially those with a different point of view.
Overall, it's not easy, but it can be done. I have gone through the learning curve myself.
