OUR CREATIVE CONSCIOUSNESS
The 3 C’s: Consciousness, Compassion, Creativity
• Consciousness relates to Being
• Compassion relates to Feeling
• Creativity relates to Action
But let us not confuse ‘action’ with ‘activity’. They are very different. Activity is action without relevance, rampant wastage. Because of this truth, when the moment arrives for action, we have no energy!
Activity is an immersion into busy-ness, an escape from yourself, and often a drug. But in Action, because the impelling force is the creative spirit, you come alive, you are! You become one with the ocean of all that is; you become oceanic. But in ‘activity’ many try to defeat the ocean! It is not possible; we can only defeat the waves, never the ocean.
If we are to avoid future-shock, we must become future-ready! The path lies in starting from the source: ‘creativity’.
Activity by itself is neither creative nor uncreative. The ‘act’ (activity or action) is not creative: it is the person who is creative. This is reflective of our evolution, in learning, developing, and growing, through movement, and through change and transformation: through making the familiar strange, and the strange familiar; from the known into the unknown into the unknowable.
Creativity is intelligence vibrating each cell of your whole being; each atom starts dancing and falls into a subtle harmony with the whole. That’s what creativity is: to pulsate in harmony with the total. This is when things start happening on their own, automagically. Your heart starts pouring forth songs of joy, your hands start transforming raw material into ripe manifestations. What you touch, becomes a lotus, because of your alchemy. But this is only possible through great awakening of intelligence, issuing forth from the heart.
THE RATIONALE FOR INVICTUS
No candle can lose its light when being used to light another candle. YOU are a candle, aglow with warmth and light. You lighting others is a covenantal act of creation.
We come from thin air, from nowhere, from everywhere. Then life happens and we try to make sense of it, endeavouring to convert stops into steps, when we have the chance to become miracles of conjunction between ourselves and the events of the world.
This workbook is designed to provoke you into purposeful engagement with your status quo, to demolish it, and to rise beyond your past. We do not create our destiny; we participate in its unfolding. And thus, the contents of this volume are crafted so that you can have relationships with your possibilities, relationships that can stretch you and fashion you into works of art ... reaching for all that is highest within you. \
Whatever you are is a consequence of your evolution to this moment. My point is that it is not necessarily experience that is valuable; it’s the insights people gain because of their experience. Reflective Thinking turns experience into insight, which becomes valuable when it informs or equips us to meet new experiences.
Most of all, this book has been consciously and deliberately crafted to honour your spirit. I hope that it can provide you with perspective within context, a continual connection with your journey, and counsel and direction concerning your future.
Keep asking yourself: “When was the last time you did something for the first time?” Then lead the way!
