My favourite definition of wealth comes from author-architect-inventor-educator-futurist R Buckminster Fuller, or Bucky as he was often affectionately known:

"WEALTH IS THE PRODUCT OF ENERGY TIMES INTELLIGENCE: ENERGY TURNED INTO ARTIFACTS THAT ADVANTAGE HUMAN LIFE."
