Here's a simple perspective shifting exercise I have synthesised in the nineties as part of my creativity workshop for entrepreneurs, managers & professionals, as well as for students.
It's simply called 'Juxtaposition'.
To me, I always hold the belief that our ability to juxtapose is an innate ability to place things or people or events or even other ideas close together or side by side, especially for the purpose of comparison or contrast, resulting in the possibility of coming up with a new combination.
So, go ahead & explore what comes to your mind when you see...
[Just in case you are stuck: Here are some perceptual possibilities:
(1) brainstorm or catch that lightning in your head; (2) good or right connection; (3) Asian or Chinese cuisine; (4) sea-sickness; (5) reading between the lines; (6) 3 degrees below zero; (7) elevator out of order; (8) son of a gun; (9) foul language or talk cock [a typical Singaporean slang meaning either to "talk nonsense" or "engage in idle banter"]; (10) water; (11) e=mc2; (12) practise safe sex; (13) take your Viagra if you have ED problems;]
