My Comments:

This is certainly a novel spin of the popular 5 Whys (sometimes known as 5 Y) technique orginally designed to help engineers get to the root of a problem quickly.
It was created by Sakichi Toyoda, the Japanese industrialist, inventor, and founder of Toyota Industries.
It became popular in the 1970s, and reportedly Toyota still uses it to solve problems today.
